Alternate Bandwidth Measurement Method - Networx Integration, M2M

I propose using Networx as an alternative mechanism to measure bandwidth consumed for the purpose of implementing a transfer cap. Networx presents all of the bandwidth consumed across the network, whereas uTorrent only tracks the bandwidth sent and received via the application itself. I understand there are a few shortcomings associated to the use of Networx for this purpose, such as it only runs on Windows OS at this time so usage occurring through an xBox or any smart devices (phones, tablets, Nest thermostats, network printers, etc) would not be reflected in the true overall usage. Rogers ISP is now offering M2M services so perhaps that is another workable solution to ensure that usage is kept within one's service plan's limits.

The purpose of the transfer cap is to assist users who are limited by usage caps by their service providers. By only tracking data consumption occurring within uTorrent it's still possible to exceed one's limit due traffic occurring outside of uTorrent. Hence, the purpose of this feature request to utilize alternative data usage tools to better reflect one's internet usage and apply a transfer cap in uTorrent to prevent excessive overage charges should one exceed the usage limits of their internet plan.

Have you taken time to review Networx before posting?

NetWorx is a simple and free, yet powerful tool that helps you objectively evaluate your bandwidth situation. You can use it to collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection. NetWorx can help you identify possible sources of network problems, ensure that you do not exceed the bandwidth limits specified by your ISP, or track down suspicious network activity characteristic of Trojan horses and hacker attacks.
