marine8498
so ive recently switched to at&t high speed dsl, now all the speed tests say im capable of recieveing around 5.1-6 megabytes of download and around 300kbs for upload, but utorrent will only go as high as 620kbs for download and ive got quite a few seeds and peers like over 30 on both and this is on like almost any torrent, it wont get any higher, so i feel like im being limited somewhere, ive talked with att they've taken me threw what they could, they dont know how to fix it, so ive gone threw the guides and done most of the steps i even did the port forwarding on my firewall and manually threw my router, im not sure what else to do? DreadWingKnight
Your line is only rated for about 550-600kbyte/sec down and about 50kbyte/sec up.
marine8498
but yet im paying for 6megabyte speeds and 350kbs upload speeds? when i download music files threw the youtube download helper i usually get between 1.1megs and 1.3, shouldnt i least be able to get the same off of utorrent? DreadWingKnight
Based on your speedtest results, your line is not actually rated for *byte/sec. It's rated for *bit/sec.There is a factor of 8 difference between the two, and if you're not getting what you're actually paying for (Keeping in mind that internet provider documentation frequently uses *bit/sec instead of *byte/sec), you need to contact your service provider about it.
