Best way to anonymously download torrents?

I am wondering what are the best ways to anonymously download torrents or protect yourself when using utorrent/bittorrent?

I know there probably is no 100% way to protect yourself but I rather take as many steps as possible.

First I am looking for free options vs paid options and start out with them and then if needed tried some paid options.
