hurta Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 Hi,I've just installer uTorrent on a PC i built with some old parts i had over to create a file/torrentserver but I'm having slow download speeds.Things i have done and tried.-I have forwarded ports in my router Linksys E1000-I have run the setup guide and it says that ports are open.-I have tried downloading the recommended test torrents.-I have allowed connections in windows firewall.I am getting speeds of about 300kB/s for the same torrents i get 11mB/s on my normal PC. The only difference is that i have enabled the web ui on the file/torrentserver, the ports are different(both ports forwarded though) and the hardware obviously(file/torrentserver is running on core2, 2gb ram). I have not tried changing anything in advanced settings as the "F YOU HAVE SPEED ISSUES READ HERE FIRST"-thread suggest since it is working on my other PC with the same settings. Before i ran the setup guide i got speeds of about 3mb but very unstable, it would bounce up to 3mB/s and then down to maybe 500kb/s.Any suggestions for what i could try?

Both running Win7 Ultimate. No changes done to MSE on either of my PC's. Transferring files between PC's is 11mB/s so it's not the cable either.
ciaobaby Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 Not without more info on your settings.
hurta Posted December 15, 2012 Author Report Posted December 15, 2012 Not without more info on your settings. What specific information do you need?

hurta Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 I'm also experiencing some other odd behavior. When uTorrent is running I'm getting network issues with that PC, can't connect with wifi remote or team viewer. It seems like uTorrent is blocking other connections somehow.
ciaobaby Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 100 peer connections per torrent? Really???There is a zero too many in there at best.
hurta Posted December 17, 2012 Author Report Posted December 17, 2012 100 peer connections per torrent? Really???There is a zero too many in there at best.Well then there is a bug in uTorrent for setting it that way when i run setup guide. Also i works like a charm on my other PC with those settings. Maybe you just have a slower connection so that uTorrent setup guide never sets the parameters like that for you?
hurta Posted December 17, 2012 Author Report Posted December 17, 2012 I tried with 10 peer connections per torrent and it made some difference, what i got was basically what i had before i ran the setup guide. Unstable download jumping from 500kB/s to 3mB/s-ish while same torrent downloads stable 10mB/s+ on my other PC.
ciaobaby Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 And is "the other PC" on the same connection?
hurta Posted December 18, 2012 Author Report Posted December 18, 2012 And is "the other PC" on the same connection?Of course.I'm starting to think it is driver related. I tried a different torrent.client and i had the same.issues. The wierd thing is that normal transfere maxes out on 12mB/s, but it propably has to something.with multiply connections.
ciaobaby Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 The "setup guide" has to assume that only ONE client is running on the connection, by running two or more bittorrent clients you may/will have to alter some settings to compensate.I tried a different torrent.client and i had the same.issues. So NOT a uTorrent problem per se,
