Eagleheart
So I moved my...2,301 .torrent files that are loaded in uTorrent to a different directory, not knowing this would cause a problem. They now all say "Error: Can't open .torrent file" even after I tried moving the torrent files back and restarting the program. Any way to fix this? DreadWingKnight
Force a re-check on EVERY torrent with the error.
Eagleheart
Nothing happens when I try force re-check.
ciaobaby
Follow the migration guide and reload them.
Eagleheart
Hmm, you seem to need to have all the torrents downloaded to the same place when you reload them like in the migration guide. I have stuff divided in download folders over four drives though...
ciaobaby
No, you simply have to show the client where the files are before you start the recheck on them
ciaobaby
And you can start/force recheck in batches from the category lists once you have loaded them.
Eagleheart
This is just not working out. There's far too many torrents that it keeps crashing when I try and auto-reload all of them. When I try and do it in batches then it still doesn't work very well because I don't know where each one is located and it would take a million years to set every one to the right spot....The rechecks take forever to tell if I even have things set to the right spot since there's so many too.And for some reason there's only 1800 torrents in the folder when I have 2300 loaded in the program...I don't understand why this is such a fuss. All I did was move the torrent files and put them back... :/
ciaobaby
I don't understand why this is such a fuss. All I did was move the torrent files and put them back...And in doing so broke the association between the loaded processes and the meta data used (needed) to request pieces and reassemble the torrented data. djhash
There is a very slow process to fix this. Copy the Magnet URI. delete the .torrent from uTorrent then paste the magnet uri to a browser. You just have to remember where you downloaded the original file to so you won't have to re-download them again.
ciaobaby
. You just have to remember where you downloaded the original file to so you won't have to re-download them againOr you could just look in the .torrent store directory and reload the meta data. OgreV
Sorry. I'm not familiar with how things work. I thought after finding someone with a similar issue we just add to the thread. It won't happen again. That was the problem and I figured it out and was coming back to delete my original post. Thanks and again sorry
