PTFunk Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 I'm a relative newbie to Microtorrent, and I haven't figured out how/why the program 'decides' how many Peers it connects to. I often see a listing such as 5 (9) under the "Peers" column... why is this number limited? I've been caught in very slow swarms, and wished there was a way to connect to the other Peers that the program recognizes. Thanks!
µtorrent-Guest Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 its not a "decision" µtorrent makes to conect only to 5 out of 9, but its in the control of these 9, they could be firewalled for one example so that YOU will never ever can reach them unless they want to reach YOU. (thats why it is so important to have a green light/being conectable) Or it is simple that their uploadslots are all full.
Firon Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 They might be firewalled, they might just be seeds that never connected (all are lumped as peers until you connect to them and find out they're a seed) or disappeared from the swarm recently.
