A couple bugs about exiting.

When I don't have any torrents then there's no need to ask me if I am sure I want to exit.

But when i do have torrents going and try to log out, for the love of god ask me if I'm sure I want to exit!

The first one is a minor annoyance, but with the latter it can be hours before I have an "oh, ####!" moment and RUN back to my computer.

So many times I've logged out of my computer when done doing stuff, while forgetting I had torrents downloading in the background. I do have uTorrent set to ask me before exiting, which is the reason behind the first problem, but it seems when I log out of Windows that get's overridden.

Hello? This is rather annoying. So many times I've logged out when done and completely forgot i had torrents going. I went to start a new download today, only to realize that I had one that I started a few weeks ago (which would've only taken a day to download)

Have you looked into running uTorrent as a service? That way you can log in and out all day long, but as long as your pc is ON, uTorrent will run.

Then just use the webclient + uTorrent Status (FireFox add on, if you use FireFox) and you'll be golden.

I have a link in my signature, walking you through setting up uTorrent as a service. The program may be a bit dated, but all the theories behind it are still valid.

Thanks, but I think it would be easier if uTorrent just warned me when I try to logout. Kind of like how most apps (like Notepad.exe) do when they have unsaved changes.

Although now I'm just keeping an unsaved notepad file open, but Windows exits each program one at a time before stopping at ones that issue such wait commands. I can't guarantee it will try to exit notepad before utorrent, but at least it'll remind me so I can relaunch uTorrent.

I honestly don't use uTorrent enough to warrant running it as a service.

uTorrent doesn't behave like Notepad as an example, by sending a "Wait" response to the close request on "dirty document" state, is because it isnt a 'document based' application, and making it run as a service would negate the need for any such messaging, as it would then run in the machine context of "System" rather it running in a user context.
