RonD2013
Hi,I did a search for this problem to see if a fix was already found/posted but did not find anything.I have a number of entries for Search Engines in my preferences in Advanced/UI Extras. However, when I press the down arrow button next to the search box I do not get anything displayed. This happened in 3.2 and now in 3.3.Is there a known solution/work around? ciaobaby
Possibly it is something in your list that is creating the problem.
Beasly
Format your search url's in this way with each on a separate line Fenopy|http://fenopy.com/?keyword=
RonD2013
This happens with the built-in default list of Search Engines, so it is nothing that I have done to alter the content of the list.
Beasly
Have you tried reinstalling UTorrent? You may have a corrupt settings.dat file.Back it up to another location and start uTorrent from scratch.
RonD2013
Here is a pasted copy of the built-in list:IsoHunt|http://isohunt.com/torrents.php?ext=&op=and&ihq=The Pirate Bay|http://thepiratebay.se/search.php?q=tvRSS|http://tvrss.net/search/?show_name=BitTorrent|http://www.bittorrent.com/search?client=utorrent1770&search=
RonD2013
Only recently installed 3.3. Have renamed settings file and restarted. Engines list is now as follows:IsoHunt|http://isohunt.com/?keyword=The Pirate Bay|http://thepiratebay.se/?keyword=But still see no options when pressing down arrow button. when I enter a value to search and hit search Isohunt starts in my browser but goes to the start page, does not look for any torrent matching the value entered in the search. ciaobaby
That is a modified list because TPB and tvRSS are not in the default which is BitTorrent and the now defunct Mininova. To modify Beasly's suggestion a little, stopp all jobs, note down all your settings, backup your settings.dat, close the client and delete settings.dat. Then when the client restarts it will create a new settings.dat file with everything set to default. Then you can replace all your settings and restart the jobs. Beasly
keep in mind some torrent index sites may occasionally change their search url'sThe ones you posted are not correct to search...ex: IsoHunt|http://isohunt.com/?keyword= The Pirate Bay|http://thepiratebay.se/?keyword=Try some of these:IsoHunt|http://isohunt.com/torrents.php?ext=&op=and&ihq=Torlock|http://www.torlock.com/all/torrents/The Pirate Bay|http://thepiratebay.se/search.php?q=Fenopy|http://fenopy.com/?keyword=Kickass|http://kat.ph/usearch/
RonD2013
Thanks to both ciaobaby and Beasly. Have not tried Beaslys' latest suggestion yet. But I did enter the Search Engines he listed. The behaviour of search got a bit weirder. I still see nothing when I click the down arrow, However, when I enter a search string the engine that is started is the last one in the list. I moved the entries around a few times to experiment and this is definitely what is happening. This is not a major problem to me. I simple go to my browser and open the search engine(s) as required. But it is annoying!
