andmail
After hashing the downloaded files uTorrent 3.2.3 creates an empty file (~2 Gb) that was skipped and the temporary file (~1 Mb). Why? I don't need files that were skipped with the huge size!!!!

andmail
uT creates the empty file (skipped ~2Gb) after re-hashing the existing files in a folder even if all files in the torrent are skipped.Cross-file pieces. If you mean this thread I have the same problem.I don't talking about a temporary file (*.dat). Do you understand me?diskio.use_partfile = true
DreadWingKnight
Then, if you've read the thread, you'd know the actual answer to your issue. It's not something that can be avoided.

DreadWingKnight
It means there's a quirk in the torrents where you're skipping files that prevent this from working right
andmail
but when I re-downloading the .torrent (with the files I need) there's no this bug (uT3.3 does not create the skipped files)This bug appears when I re-hashing the .torrent
ciaobaby
It all depends on "cross-file pieces" and the diskio.use_partfile settingdiskio.use_partfile: This option is used to store data that is downloaded from files that you told µTorrent to skip. This is necessary to prevent the file from being allocated. It separately stores the parts of the skipped files that come with a piece, since µTorrent must download and save the entire piece in order to confirm that it is uncorrupted, and each piece can contain data from multiple files. The partfile is removed when you remove the torrent job from the torrent job list.
