tikbalang Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 is there error correction in utorrent? should the file/s be re-downloaded if it has hashfails?
Firon Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Error detection. There's no error "correction" per se in BT. It drops the failing piece (not the entire file) and just re-downloads it on the spot. Once it's finished, there's no "bad" pieces, because bad pieces aren't saved, but re-downloaded.
µtorrent-Guest Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 tikbalang once you have the file downloaded completely there is NO need to redownload it, no matter how many hashfails it has in the process of downloading it. The file that is in the end completed on your HDD has no hashfail/error in it and it is exactly like the file that the initial seeder has send out.
