randir14
I recently reinstalled Windows, when I got online and tried downloading a torrent I clicked the link in Chrome and a popup appeared, asking if I wanted to allow the torrent link to automatically open Utorrent. I accidentally clicked no, and now whenever I try downloading a torrent (regardless of what site I use) nothing happens when I click the link. If I try right clicking the link, "save as" is grayed out.Does anyone know how to fix this? I've already tried deleting Utorrent's settings.dat and settings.dat.old, and tried reinstalling it. randir14
I ended up fixing it. If anybody encounters the same issue here's what I did:1. Make sure Chrome is closed2. Browse to C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data3. Open the Local State file with Notepad4. Do a search for "magnet", you'll find a line that says something like "magnet=true". Delete the whole line, save and exit. Now when clicking a torrent link you should get the previous request asking if you want to launch an external program, click yes.
