directory of the utorrent beta...

where are the beta's installed in %Appdata%??

is a separate directoy made for the beta??

OR

does it install in the utorrent directory ( the folder for the stable ver )

I'm using µT 1.5 stable....so will my settings be deleted if i install the beta??....

or can I use the µT 1.5 stable & the beta at the same time???

you can use whatever you want

ok, you have stable, right?

then go to your Appdata/uTorrent and move all files from there to the folder where utorrent.exe is.

then make new foder, called for example uTorrent-beta, move there your µTorrent beta exe file.

start the beta exe and make the desired changes in settings, or simply quit it.

go again to Appdata/uTorrent folder and move all files to your uTorrent-beta folder.

just simple as that:)

utorrent.exe (or any beta) searches for settings.dat - if it finds this file in the same folder then just starts, if there is no settings.dat - then it looks in appdata/utorrent (if again there is no settings.dat - then utorrent creates it in appdata/utorrent)

Betas don't install.

The standalone exe is a standalone exe. It runs from wherever it is stored.

%appdata%\uTorrent only stores settings.

@maku8ex: Not sure what you're asking. µTorrent always looks in %appdata%\uTorrent, be it beta or otherwise, unless the appropriate files are placed in the same directory as the executable. As for using stable and beta side-by-side... why would you want to do that? At any rate, I recall there was something having to do with resume.dat being cleared when upgrading to a newer build, but I'm not sure if that was resolved.

Your settigns wont be erased, just use the new shortcut for the beta.
