812many Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 I cant seem to figure out if I forwarded my ports correctly. I went to portforward.com and followed the steps. WindowsXP sp1 firewall is not on. No software firewalls. When I run the portforward check within the utorrent program it tells me my "port does not apear to be open". But what I dont understand is that I can average about 50kB/s uploading. Does that seem like an upload speed of a blocked port? My real concern is that I need to get my ratio up on a certain site and the file I need to upload is only averaging at about 2kB/s. Not sure if its not a popular torrent or my port is blocked. One thing for sure is that whether I am uploading at 2kB/s or at 50kB/s the signal is usually yellow and never green. As of this moment I am uploading a file at 55kB/s and the signal is RED! Any suggestions?
Firon Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Turn off UPnP, and check your forwards again. Make sure you forwarded to the IP in Start -> Run -> cmd /k ipconfigDo you have any anti-virus? Or any security software at all?
Ultima Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Upload isn't affected as much by port forwarding as download speed-wise -- I was able to max my upload out without forwarding too.
