Stop utorrent losing download information when hard disk not available

I download onto a portable hard drive and occasionally forget to plug it in before I start utorrent up. So utorrent sees its disk is not there and gives a missing directory (drive) error on every active download, meaning that when the disk is restored it does a re-check of every download and this can take hours if, like me, you have hundreds of multi-gigabyte downloads going. It's absolutely infuriating when it happens.

Please, when utorrent sees that its download drive is missing, can you make it pop up a window to ask you to connect the disk drive and not just automatically spaz out?!
