Blaze007
So, I just got a new notebook and recently moved to a new country. I had a desktop PC back in my country and this is my first notebook ever, in my country when using uTorrent, I used to have constant download speed(48-50kbps with a 512K connection speed) but here I have a 1Mb connection speed and should be getting download speed of 105-110kbps but I don't! Without uTorrent though I do get the 110kbps download speed lilke with my Internet Download Manager.I get fluctuation in speeds and this really annoys me; it goes from 50kbps to 60-75kbps and drops back to 50kbps then shoots up again and back to 50kbps BUT NEVER GOES UP TO 100 or 110 and NOT EVEN 90kbps! This is worse than my slower connection back in my country!A friend told me to forward the ports and try using the ethernet cable as it maybe caused by the Wifi so I did forward the ports and in the setup guide it also says ports are open, I added an exception in windows firewall and also tried downloading using the ethernet cable, for a while the speed goes down and starts to go up again(I guess that's when it changes from Wifi to cable) and appears to be constant(90-105) but after a while the fluctuation starts all over again! The torrents I download have a lot of seeders (300-4000) but it connects to only around 50 of them!Right now I'm 'trying to download' GTA IV which has 4000+ seeders, but only 52 is connected!HELP ME PLEASE! BitTorrent is not a constant rate protocol.
Blaze007
The torrents I download have a lot of seeders (300-4000) but it connects to only around 50 of them! And???Why only around 50 is connected? 50 out of 4500+ seeders?but here I have a 1Mb connection speed and should be getting download speed of 105-110kbps but I don't!No you shouldn't, you will get the speeds that the connected peers will send data to your client.Yes I should, there are people downloading the same torrent at 500kbps-1mbps and if you read completely, I said I was getting constant max speed when I was in my country.I get fluctuation in speeds and this really annoys me;Tough! BitTorrent is not a constant rate protocol. Then why was I getting constant speed? I have a friend in my country who send me a screenshot of his torrent...and the graph was constant; 100-110kbps!If you were such a smart ass maybe you would have guessed I tried all possible ways before posting this here
DreadWingKnight
Because of different swarm conditions. That's why.
DreadWingKnight
And if you followed ANY youtube setup guide to configure uTorrent, all bets are off.
