Apontas
This is a weird one, after I download the torrent & run it on utorrent, in the beggining it recognizes the seeds and peers available, then it seems to start, the speed seems to be rising but at shortly after it began, stops and displays in the status collumn "Error: access is denied" at the same time it displays in the bottom right corner (where the icon of utorrent is): "Torrent errorFile : John_doe.avi (for example)The access is denied"I'd hope someone would clear this 'cause its freakin me, some friends tried to shut down the firewall, the av, both... The first time I used the standalone version (utorrent v1.5), but to clear out any possibility, I downloaded & tried the Instalation suit. None of those things worked, it might be simple but I'm kinda in the dark on this one. By the way I have avast! av and the firewall is the one provided by windows (sp2)
µtorrent-Guest
if i remember correctly there is something about this problem in the FAQ. It has something to do with some other application is blocking µtorretn to access the file. The explorer with its preview/miniview settings for example.Take a look in the FAQ, please
Apontas
Sorry, been there done that still, no specific on what happened with me...
µtorrent-Guest
So you definitly ruled everything out that is mentioned there?http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#I_get_Error_Access_Denied_and_.C2.B5Torrent_halts_the_torrentIf you have done that, THEN try the latest "unofficial" beta (http://utorrent.com/download/beta/utorrent-1.5.1-beta-build-459.exe) and if the error is still there, report it to ludde (directly in IRC or start a thread in "found bugs")
Lucifer
I maybe wrong but i think Avast has a real time scanner which might explain the error.Oh wait, i think yours is a tracker problem.
Ultima
? It's not a tracker status error.@Apontas: Like µtorrent-Guest says, check the FAQ and make sure you don't have any software listed under the Incompatible Software section (check that link he posted first). Apontas
Well, first of all I'd like to thank u for the reply's, but, as for what the german guy said, I've seen that page and here's where it all goes down to...1º I don't have Google/MSN Desktop...so it cant be that;2º I only have 1 copy of utorrent;3º when I shut of the av, I suppose all of the options of the av where shut, so no ppossibilities of the realtime scanner acting;4º I didn't try and see the thing I was dowloading and for a fact I use firefox to surf the web5º I saw that and did changed the settings of the destination folder (the issue of the "read only"), still no better; And for the finale, the torrets were not damaged that is why I'm posting here...As for what Lucifer said, well I think the problem is not of the tracker...What I can say is that I had this problem once, but I don't remember how it was solved
Ultima
Would you happen to have any other software that does some kind of scanning/indexing/previewing of files?

Firon
try uninstalling your AV instead. And try not viewing the folder the files are in, either.
