kh00kie
I'm running a Linksys WRT54G Router and everything was fine for about a day ago. This is what I did before the problem started;1. I had set (as followed by the guide on port forwarding in utorrent itself) the static IP addresses on both comps individually and also on the Linksys server webpage. All was swell, both comps were dl at about 25-55kb/sec and my internet surfing was unaffected.2. I also set Windows firewall to allow utorrent access without hindrance by placing it as an exception.3. My internet line is a 516kb/sec. Have checked my bandwidth speed and all was well. Both utorrents were in the green light status and had about approx. 200+ nodes. The next day I arrived at the office;1. One of the comps, utorrent was showing a red light and the other was still fine.2. I tried to surf the internet but It was like I was crawling. I could only load the google page after 7 tries. I thought it was the internet connection so thought nothing of it.3. So I reconfigured the static ip address to the default one on the comp that had the utorrent in red. Of course the utorrent still d/l but at a much reduced level. Still the internet surfing was slow. I gave it a day.The following day;1. The other which was ok the day before was not d/l at all. Seeds and Peers were healthy but my nodes were only 2.2. Surfing was still slow. I managed to get to the Linksys page and deleted the Utor1 application and its port numbers etc.....3. Surfing was still slow. I unplugged everything from modem to my router, waited for 5 minutes. Started everything back and my internet was speedy again.I have broadband at home where the line is dedicated to only 1 comp. No problems so far, I have set it as I have explained and for 2 weeks it's been beautiful. SO I've surmised it could be the following but I lack the knowledge to fix this problem;1. In the Linksys webpage do i Have to name the applications Utor1 and Utor2 if it's 2 seperate computers?2. I'm using the default 32459 port given by Utorrent. DO I have to change these? I've read on some other forums that they use 6890-6899. Is there a problem there? 3. Does my Internet Browser (Mozilla) has some kind of conflict with utorrent? Do i have to change the ports Mozilla uses?4. I don't d/l more than 2 items a go so I know it's not because of 2 much traffic and it was working fine on the day i first set utorrent up.I would also like to apologize if I had post this on the wrong topic channel. I did read the post on the linksys routers but I hope my problem could be solved without me changing the router configuration through my comp which the post did say was risky.Thank you,Kevin Khoo
nf0rc3r
www.portforward.comJust make sure both computers use different ports for utorrent and not the same one. Your router can't forward 1 port to 2 computers.
kh00kie
How about port ranges? Do i Have to stink to one port allocation like 32459 for one comp and 32460 for the other or could have say 32459-32469 for one and 32470-32480 for the other one? Just installed the independent firmware Thibold sumthin for my router, do i have to reboot? Thanks enforcer.

Firon
Remember to do the other instructions for the WRT54G (check the FAQ or something)
