burtz
hi! i've just subcribed to a cable internet here in our local area and i really have no idea how to setup utorrent? i'm a former dialup user (how lame am i?!? lol), and i don't know where and how to start setting up p2p applications like utorrent. when i open utorrent, why is it that the status light is always RED or YELLOW and never GREEN? i've seen a lot of solutions like portfarward.com but they all require a router in which i do not have one. all i have is a Toshiba PCX2000 and a PC with WinXP SP2 (built-in firewall is OFF). can i map or forward ports without a router? or am i just unlucky not be able to use p2p? :(thanx! Firon
Do you have -any- security software at all? Even an anti-virus? And you can still torrent with a red light, but it means it wasn't able to bind a listening port for some reason. Yellow is indeterminate (was able to bind a listening port, but currently has no incoming connections). Also, do start -> run -> cmd /k ipconfigWhat IP address do you see? Firon
Don't double post. And I think you might be behind an ISP-enforced NAT. You'll probably have to call them.
