GrayBuddah Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Hello, I installed utorrent on my laptop a few days ago and since I installed it my internet hasn't been working at all. I checked the forums for an answer, but the closest thing I could find was some people having issues with internet when utorrent is running. I made sure it wasn't running and I still couldn't connect to my networks. Other computers can connect to my internet just fine, and I tried using the laptop at a friend's house (even after uninstalling utorrent) to no avail. I'd installed utorrent on my desktop months ago and have never had this issue, so I figured I'd come here to see if you guys could point me in the right direction. Thanks for your time!EDIT: I suppose it would be worth it to add that my internet was working perfectly just prior to installing uTorrent.
ciaobaby Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Try the switch that turns the wireless adaptor on or off!
GrayBuddah Posted July 12, 2013 Author Report Posted July 12, 2013 Tried that and it doesn't appear to have worked. Thanks though
Axel49 Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Use the command "ipconfig" and if the output seems okay then check pinging the address visible as "Default gateway". This is a simple test to see whether your Internet connection is available at all and has nothing with the uTorrent to do.I cannot see why the uTorrent should cause connection failure, it is an end-user application like the web browser, mail client etc.
Andreasvb Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Maybe it had too many connections and made the router or something to fail.A restart should help though.
GrayBuddah Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 I don't think it's the router. All of the other computers in my house have been able to use the internet without difficulty, but I'll give it a shot!*EDIT* Nope, no luck. Thanks though!
Andreasvb Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Make sure µTorrent's process is closed, check in Task Manager. If it's not running it's not its fault, must be something else.
