muscrat_01
Hi im a real newbie to this forum, and ive been havin alot of troble with blocked ports in Utorrent lately.I used to a have a 512kb DSL connection (Pacific Internet Australia) , and I sucessfully unblocked the ports uTorrent was using, on my netgear wireless modem/router. Everything was working dandy, until I decided to uprgrade to a 1500k connection. Now im on a 1.5meg connection (i am currently capped bacuse I was over the limit on my 512 and the cap still hasent worn off, since I uprgaded) and I am getting a an error saying there still blocked when I check if the ports are unblocked on utorrent. I have tried 3 other ports and unblocked thoes wiht no success. What the hell do I do!! Could my interent speed cap be effecting the bocked ports, becaue I went over the downlaod limit, or has Pac Net decided to block all my P2P ports!!!!Ah yea just for the record im using Zone Alarm Security Suite and Kaparskey Anti Virus, and I was using them when I was on my 512 connection. Please any replies!!!!I dont want to have to call my freakin IP and be harassed because I use P2P programs! µtorrent-Guest
What do you want to haer as a reply? If they have throttled you because of your "excessive use", and maybe also blocked BT protokoll, nothing you really can do. (Enabeling encryption is one thing you can do. so they can not throttle based on BT-packets headerinformation)But as long is you not unistall your Useless Zonealarm, no real help is possible but just telling you to read the stickies and get rid of this useless programm that just cause trouble with P2p if not configured correctly. And if your ISP harrases you for the use of P2P tell them what idiots they are, that p2p is NOT illegal and that you get another ISP then! The right to choose! Use it.Edit: And do not double post, use Edit (or Firon will do it!)
Firon
Double posting and bumping out of impatience is a one-way ticket to ban.Try uninstalling Zone Alarm.
muscrat_01
Hmm ok Zone Alarm is a no no thanks, and how does one enable encryption?Ah yea i dont want my ip gettin all fussy with my p2p 'downloads'Sorry bout double posting, I really should have checked the forums rules properly! Sorrrrrryyy!*Update*Er well I disabled Zone Alarm - no luck. Its weird beacuse my ports were dandy when I had zone alarm on my 512 plan, and I wasent capped. Will uninstalling zone alarm + gettin rid of registry files give any better results....?

Firon
Well, I suggest to check your forwards on your Netgear router again. Turn off UPnP, and forward again. Make sure you forwarded port 63068 to the IP specified in Start -> Run -> cmd /k ipconfig

chran
I like Carlsberg And yes, with port forwards, it can sometimes help tremendously to set a static IP-address on your computer, instead of having it done via DHCP. As I found out ...Or just bind a specific IP-address to the NIC-MAC, if your router can do that.
