knight1x
i updated my uTorrent client app to 3.3.1 build 30017 and now i can't get the port forwarding to acknowledge that my port is open. yes, i've tried everything. yes, i know how to set up the port forwarding, yes, i've tried other port forwarding check apps and they say my port is open, but this update still insists my port is not open (though i can still download). and yes, the little check circle icon is at the bottom right of utorrent and says my network is working as it should... but no the port forwarding check doesn't register that my port is open, even tho everything else states it is. please help if you can! rafi
Guys, the setup guide port-test is currently broken, or rather the web-site it tests againsthttp://www.utorrent.com/testport?plain=1&port=32457If you have a good result from other test-sites, you are fine. So just leave it alone, and cool down...

FahKingNut
i updated my uTorrent client app to 3.3.1 build 30017, and have the same problem, but only intermittent. Some files download while others will stick at "FINDING PEERS". I've checked firewall and port forwarding and everything is working fine except for this. Sometimes I can be a noob, but now is not one of them. Any useful info would be greatly appreciated.
rafi
Any useful info would be greatly appreciated.Did you check for open port using one of those web-site-tools?
BurnTorrent
Same problem here. The tests says the port forwarding is fine. (all set up manually) but the torrents doesnt pass from connecting to peer status.
knight1x
rafii've tried opening ports on other computers with this version and uTorrent settings for portforwarding doesn't work on theirs either. so either the website uTorrent is using for portforwarding is wack, or all our computers are wack. i shouldn't have upgraded, the previous version worked just fine (except remote desktop for uTorrent hasn't worked since v2.0 for me). static IP doesn't work, Auto setup doesn't work. other website tools and my router port check all say the port is open. i even hooked the modem directly to my comp and tried it and still the same thing (hooking up my modem directly means all ports are open). someone on here said it's working just fine (and it seems that way) except the portforwarding tool on uTorrent is not reporting correct info, could this be true? rafi
Why you care so much about this test? There are plenty of web-sites that do the same. plus you have the green net-status icon.
knight1x
rafii care because others may have the same problem and also, it's a uTorrent product. this is a forum for uTorrent users, is it not? if there's a problem with uTorrent, i'd think the programmers would like to know. and yes, i understand that uTorrent may be working correctly, or it may not... since i myself am not a programmer, i would not really know for sure. besides, if my problem helps others with theirs, it doesn't hurt me to mention it. i try to be cordial and civilized about it. and thank you for your help and suggestions as well, rafi. rafi
Ok, k ... I stand corrected. I'm sure they will fix the web-test-page issue eventually...
FahKingNut
I've been over port forwarding, forward and backwards, and I'm open, but utorrent says NO. I'm now tyring the Alpha release 3.4 with no luck, still hanging at Finding Peers. I'm only getting this "problem" on one site that I know of, but it sure does cramp my style that I have to give up using one of my favorite sites until this issue can be addressed. *sigh*
ciaobaby
and I'm open, but utorrent says NO. check with an external tool, then turn OFF uPnP and NAT-PMP and ignore the false warnings.
FahKingNut
No change. Even rebooted everything and no change.BUT, it turns out that Peerblock was the problem on some sites. Anybody else running Peerblock or something similar might want to give it a look.

knight1x
fahkingnut- i'm sure you've probably already done this but i didn't notice you mentioning about it so i wonder if you already uninstalled your current uTorrent version make sure every aspect of it is off your computer, including any settings saved, etc. and then reinstalling it? have you tried that? if you have, disregard this message. if you haven't, try it... make sure your uTorrent in "preferences" settings under "BitTorrent" is set correctly (i have "enable local peer discovery" checked on and "enable peer exchange" unchecked). maybe there is something in this settings that is different? again, if this doesn't apply, disregard.
