Ultima
So the port checker says everything's OK? And you're sure you configured ZoneAlarm properly?
daniel0ng
the port checker has a bit of a problem, but i can get green light.http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/2840/portcheck1eh.jpgstrange thing is, my ip address seems to be different on different websites, wonder whether this has got to do with SNBB doing proxies or something.yup ZA is configured properly, disabling it does nothing to µtorrent either. µtorrent-Guest
danielthis different IP thing is because of the ISP proxie thing.BTW nice first sreen shot. extra for us the debianstuff shown. But take a look in the general tab... OOPS!
daniel0ng
OPPS haha oh well but connecting to so few people is becos of:1) ISP proxies?2) port not forwarded properly? (checked)3) out of 1000 people out there only 5 wants to connect to me? highly unlikely right?anyone with SNBB suffering the same fate as me? µtorrent-Guest
if you refer to the debian packs and few connected peers, That is "normal" if you just have a slow UL line to offer to them. The peers try to go for the fastest seeders. In case of Open source stuff thats likely the seeding boxes connected to internet backbonelines! So thats no need to worry about. daniel0ng
but it's happening for every torrent i activate, the number of connections i'm having is pathetic even tho my global is 160 and per torrennt is 40, upload slots per torrent is 4 and max upload speed is 32kB/swonder why
Ultima
ISP proxy is probably causing your problems. In Preferences > Other > Report Options, put your IP address in the IP/Hostname to report to tracker. While it might not help with all trackers, it should help with some. Firon
Singnet transparently proxies all HTTP connections

While it might not help with all trackers, it should help with some.but if my ip changes, then how would this value change too? i have to frequently check whether my address has changed to set it correctly right?Firon: so this is a problem that pertains specifically to singnet? and there's no way around proxy in µtorrent?[Don't quote the post directly before yours, don't double post.]
Firon
Yes, there's no way around it, because it's your ISP doing it. Get a new ISP or live with it.On a completely different note, did you try uninstalling Zone Alarm to see if it works fine afterwards?
daniel0ng
sorry about the double post i tried uninstalling, but it also didn't help, i guess i'll have to suffer for the next 2 years until my contract ends or if some big thing hits my ISP such that they change things thanks for all the help
