bandwidth usage meter stats problem

Hi everyone

Just arrived and thanks for the oppurtunity to post.:)

I have recently installed 2 bandwidth meters to check my data usage.

I wanted to check if they were reasonably accurate.

I loaded a torrent in my utorrent client (2.2.1 Build 21550) of 540mb.

Checking all other browsers were closed I downloaded the file in my utorrent client of 540mb

Each independant bandwidth meter however showed an approximate data download of 1.5gb.

Can anyone explain why the amounts are so completely in variance

The bandwidth meters are ShaPlus and Bitmeter.

2.2.1 Build 21550

Which is not supported at these forums.

Ok thanks for that

I downloaded the file in my utorrent client of 540mb
uTorrent shows downloads in BYTES (B) not bits (B)

Point is I downloaded a file 540MB in size the meters however show a download value of 1.5GB for that action

Can any body help with an explanation?

Have a look at what else is running on the machine.

Here's the thing.

Open UT and start a download. The independent meter suggests that I am downloading 2/3 times the data that UT says I am d/l ing

If I stop or pause UT the bandwidth meter stops also.

This suggests nothing else is running on the machine

Just tested after resetting bandwidth meter to zero

UT says D/L 170MB U/L 32kB

Meter says D/L 376.56MB U/L 17.12MB
