Orson Capra Posted October 6, 2013 Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 Hey fellas!Every time I start downloading, utorrent vanishes silently after about an hour into the download queue (seeding is no problem). It's been going on like this for weeks. Up to that point uTorrent worked exactly as I love it, fast, reliable and very low on resources. Been using it for years without any issues, but for whatever reason everytime I start a download it crashes sometime later. It could take several hours, but most recently it's not much longer than around 1 hour until it vanishes silently. The only change I've made in preferences that kind of coincides with the problems is the size of the disk cache. I tried to set it back to default but it made downloading impossible, because I'm downloading directly onto an external HDD and this causes the disk to overload infinitely shortly after the download has started. So I set it back to 1800 (maximum) and voilà, no more overloading. I have the feeling that whatever it is, I could solve it by completely deleting the uTorrent installation from my computer as well as the corresponding AppData folder. This way it would be a fresh and clean installation. However, reinserting the almost 150 torrents I'm seeding would be more than just a pain in the neck. But what does it serve me if uTorrent closes itself every single time...It does NOT "close itself", it CRASHES because you are trying to use a memory cache at the very maximum that a 32bit application such as uTorrent can actually manage. I let the pc with bittorrent open to download during the whole night but when i wake up th emorning to check, bittorrent disappears, i mean it isn't open but the downloads seems to had a little progress.If it crashes due to trying to use more memory that a 32bit app can handle how can i fix that?I have 7 torrents on download. My antivirus is Bitdefender Internet Security 2014My memory RAM is: Corsair Vengeance 8GB(4*2) 1600Mhz with X.M.P.Please help me this situation is frustrating.
