Teamplay
Hi,Why it's not possible to change the install directory while making an update?Any latest updates delete all the correct settings and install the update in a new (wrong) directory.RegardsLeo

Teamplay
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=694218#p694218Okay, thank you. I can read there:"...Yes, that's the whole reason for 3.4. Can't be installed in Program Files to do autoupdates without UAC..."Does it mean that all the users, who need some other directory, has to update manually and they loose all their setting every time? And suffer because each new version does not recognize all the torrents previously downloaded? Andreasvb
You need to move the files manually, even if portable. Each and every time, to infinity and beyond.
Teamplay
You need to move the files manually. And how can I get my download history back? After the move the interface shows nothing in the history.
Andreasvb
In your case it can't find the folder you had it in before. If it's a regular install all files will need to stay where they were, in %AppData%\uTorrent.If you have it setup as portable it will be in the same folder as utorrent.exe.Also, torrents' locations are static as it will not find the torrents if you move them. Teamplay
Sorry, but again:1. it is e.g. here: c:\uTorrentAnd the history is okay2. update comes here: %AppData%\uTorrent3. I copy everything from (2) to (1)And all the history disappearsHas it been intended by developers? :(
Andreasvb
If you have settings.dat and utorrent.exe in same folder, it will use that instead of %AppData%\uTorrentYou will also need resume.dat for all loaded torrents.
Teamplay
If you have settings.dat and utorrent.exe in same folder... also need resume.dat ....THANK YOU very much!I'll try next update and report here then.
Andreasvb
You're welcome.I also hope they change so it updates the one you're using, like it used to.If it doesn't you'll need to replace the exe manually each time, that's what I referred to with the Toy Story quote.
