ffjason
I couldnt see many topics about this - related to my issue but i would like to raise it to your awareness more than anything. This isn't so much a problem as just an issue i'm aware of.Whilst using a private tracker i usually find that there are "ghost" peers appearing in uTorrent but not on the tracker - the statistics of peers is also largely different from the trackers numbers and the clients numbers.I can never connect to any of these peers so i don't care about it - i'm also fairly sure its not related to DHT as they show up whether its on or not! I believe it may be due to super-seeding although this is mainly just a guess. My thory is that: the seeders who are using super-seeding are showing up as ghost leechers. For example i am seeding one torrent that has 10 seeders & 0 leecher on the site - which is correct! - and uTorrent sees it as 7 seeders & 3 leechers - although obviously i do not connect to the leechers! As you can see in the pic tho it also says "10 swarm" next to seeds & "0 swarm" by the leechers.uTorrent StatsSomewhere along the lines it is seeing the same peer as two different things! I'm asuming that somewhere in the programming this is all figured out but i don't know anything about the uTorrent programming or the protocols used with it and do not know which is causing the problem.Any information on this issue will be apreciated!Cheers,Jason
DreadWingKnight
I believe it may be due to super-seeding although this is mainly just a guess.Nope, This isn't it.The x in swarm values are obtained from the tracker. What your client actually gets is the ACTUAL connections to the peers. Firon
And seeders that you never connect to, as well as stale peers, will show up as peers, since the client only finds out a seed = seed when it connects to it.
