gracefool
I'm on a 56k connection (actually around 49kbps), and the uTorrent speed graph often displays speeds over 8kB/s - even when I have only one active torrent. This is obviously impossible, so I'm guessing it's because of rounding errors?

DreadWingKnight
Speed bursts are calculated at the point of the burst, not as an average across the full length of it, so you'll end up with momentary spikes of bandwidth with dips on either side corresponding to the opposite side of the burst. gracefool
I'm not sure if that explains it - I get speeds over my theoretical maximum for 10-20 seconds or more at at time...
Ultima
Speed bursts are nothing out of the ordinary. I've seen Firefox report that I was downloading at 1+MiB/s, which is entirely impossible on a 5mbit line.
