uTorrent crashes consistently, requesting help

uTorrent will crash after awhile. What does 'awhile' mean, exactly? I can't say for sure since it's happening on my server and not when I'm watching it. I'd search through the uTorrent logs to find out more but OOPS, those don't exist. (Ahem, did someone say feature request?)

So I'll follow the bug reporting instructions as outlined here and hopefully someone can help me.

Note: I restarted uTorrent before I gathered the following output. I assumed this is an implied requirement though not explicitly stated in the Bug Reporting How-To article.

They do, but you have to enable 'to file' logging.

What size cache is uTorrent set to use?

thanks for the quick response. I'm assuming you're referring to the Disk Cache, yes? That's 1800MB and everything's checked/enabled. No, I guess I'm not. Too high? What's a suitable cache size? Why are we going down this route? What are you seeing that I'm not?

Some background on why I increased cache size. I discovered about a month ago that uT would fill the cache 100% and then start flushing it to disk. And when it hit 100% cache utilization uT would stop downloading the active torrents (obviously) until it flushed cache. Torrents would start back up after flushing but then cache would quickly fill back up in about 30s, say. And we're back to stopping torrents and waiting to flush cache. This was a huge performance impediment and time drain. So I increased the cache size and it seemed to work.

Way, way too high, TRIPLE what it should be

256 - 512MB should be more than enough, and if it still struggles on flushing, ... reduce it NOT increase it.

uTorrent V3 clients need to flush less data more often.

Mine still crashes consistently. Using the stable 3.3.2 with default 128 MB cache size.

Ok do you mean:

Constantly meaning "all the time"

OR

Consistently meaning "on regular basis that can be relied upon"

If it is the latter you should be able to determine what is the catalyst for the occurence.

And where is the information needed to provide an insight into what may be the problem.

UPDATE: Set Disk Cache to 512MB and don't think it's crashed. Been 3 days so far.

It has not crashed for 5 days now. Number of torrents are the same, by the time it was crashing.

I don't know the reason, as I haven't made any changes recently.

During the crash, I was trying to Name, #, Size, Completed On, etc. column, but after the crash it was going back to default settings. I also tried un-installed, removing the folder entirely, then installing it, but it was crashing every now and then.

What generally causes these frequent crashes?

Running with too large a cache.

My Anti-virus doesn't show any activity regarding any interference with utorrent data.

I don't change the cache size, use mostly the default settings.

It has started since I upgraded to utorrent 3.3.2

I've been using it since 1.6, I think.

I am using ESET Smart Security for several years now, along with utorrent. But since, 3.3.1 version, it's causing trouble.

If it's possible for utorrent to relaunch itself, after every crash?
