joeya1k
utorrent causes CPU spikes exactly every four minutes and my pc locks for half a second, cursor, like, skips and the sound stutters or a movie, very annoying. When it occurs, the process that uses cpu is actually System PID 4. It doesn't matter if its a fresh install of windows or not, I tried with SSD, HDD, different memory module, drivers.. doesn't help. When I close utorrent everything is just fine. Suggestions?

torrentoidus
Are you sure this utorrent-related? Are you perhaps on Windows 8.1 with a relatively old PC? If so... switch back to 8.0. I had similar problems with them.

torrentoidus
This kind of behaviour is frequently antivirus/firewall software related. What do you have installed? First, try completely disabling it. If that doesn't work, completely uninstall it, restart and try again.Failing that, you might want to try with a new utorrent installation, maybe something is messed up in your settings. Rafi's settings.dat file is a great start.
