jonte77
When downloading at fairly high speeds 2-3000 kilobytes/s, the memory usage increases about the same speed as the download. In my last run I let it increase until it reached 300MB. When i stopped the download the memory usage settled under 6MB in about a minute.Only tried this with v1.1.5.I have a Via 1GHz cpu, so I figured the hash queue might be increasing indefinitly if the cpu can't keep up. It could also be the write to disk queue, since my hdd's not very fast. Maybe I should just leave the problem solving to the people who know what the're talking about Amazing piece of software though! Thanks for your hard work! vurlix
Are you talking about the memory used by the utorrent.exe process, or the free memory going down?Free memory going down is the result of Windows' disk cache. The utorrent.exe process should not be using that much memory, under any circumstance.
Niceguy
there was a looong discussion regarding this, and it turned out to be due to windows file cache handling. thus in 1.15 there is an option that periodically (1 minute intervals iirc) flushes the file cache. try enabling this and likely you will no longer have these problems (I believe its under 'advanced' in options). jonte77
I'm talking about the memory used by the utorrent.exe process. If I limit the dl speed to 400KB/s the utorrent.exe process stays under 10MB.At 1500kb/s it goes up and down between 30MB and 40MB.Without limit at about 2500KB/s it just keeps increasing until my computer becomes totally unresponsive.
