This is really weird. The download page shows µTorrent Stable (3.4.1 build 30888) For Windows (1.6 MB) English (US) - April 24, 2014. But when you download the file, has 1.2MB.

The file is exactly (utorrent.exe): 1,270,352 bytes long

MD5 Checksum: e2e84e72995ac987a8549f4d5203230b *utorrent.exe

SHA1 Checksum: 12e1e11983ff1e348937731ed3153d7127cacdf6 *utorrent.exe

Its smaller. Its everything alright?

Because, the previous download of this exactly version and build has:

MD5 Checksum: 9F27F32DC4C7BA60D7038E06F03973B7
SHA1 Checksum: 99AA82AEE5DF66E08332927B063DCF4C4A162D1E

Dated April 20, 2014

When I download µTorrent several times in succession (even from the same link in the first post of this thread), I get a different file every time, though they all show the same version numbers (3.4.1.30888) and have the same size (1,672,784 bytes) with seemingly proper Digital Signatures, and the certificates look alright.

I just did it three times within a couple of minutes and got three different uTorrent.exe files with these MD5 Checksums:

43AB89EABAFB77974894F19ABDED16A7

64B244662B4830E892C9B1A3B1A8E284

2E5D7F08A44D502D3545C4E3B597345A

Beyond Compare shows approx. one screen full of hex differences between files, starting at hex position 00197CB9.

Is there an explanation for this phenomenon?

and yet uT developers don't fix the reported bugs and crashes, just the

Fix: Wrong nightly indication
Fix: Bundle systray notification
Fix: Improved error handling of HTTPS cert errors in ads
Fix: Color of about box text

in short, is the app stupid, or the developers?

anyway, thanks to the smart developers for bringing us uT 3.3.1 and before.

One that is overparanoid.

no, far from that. This client is acting like a well-known spyware. Connects to a specific site and send a receive data, offering offers. How do you call that?.

I wonder how that firewall would react with an older version of this client. Lets say any 1.8.* or 2.*
