Buglife
Hi. I am using utorrent 2.0.4.21586.I know that utorrent does not work on folder structure like Kazaa, but my question is:Lest say I have downloaded an application that consists of one file (let’s say program1.exe) after completion utorrent places the file in a “Folder” called “program1” in “C:\Users\username\Downloads” and includes a “.txt” named “Torrent downloaded from xxxx.com”. If a personal file is accidentally placed inside “program1” folder, does utorrent seed the entire “program1” folder and includes the personal files or only the “program1.exe” and “Torrent downloaded from xxxx.com.txt”. My concern is people be able to access this personal file. Thank you in advance for your help

Buglife
Only the files actually in the torrent. Please forgive my ignorance,Would I be correct to assume that, the personal file that was accidentally placed in “program1” Folder, will not be downloaded/accessed by other users even if someone downloads the entire "Program1" folder?Again, my apologies for asking for clarification...Thanks

The file created is the "*.torrent" file. Your torrent program will only follow the instructions contained in the torrent file. One of the instructions in this file is a list of what files are being shared. Only the files in this list are uploaded/downloaded from a person's computer. Any other files that happen to be in the same folder are completely ignored. They just do not exist for that torrent at all. Neither you, nor anybody else can add extra files to any torrent, not even the person who created the torrent.
creamtown
Yeah, me too. I'm always concerned with this issue. I mean, i remember the old days when i used Kazza where i could explore other people's folders to "steal" the files.
