homie101
My brother complained about Utorrent slowing down our network connections, so he disconnected my cable WHILE I was downloading. And when I tried restarting downloads, it gave me a damn Error: message and said to re-check. I re-checked and now I'm back to 0.1% downloading, it's a huge file I'm downloading, too...3 GB.IS THERE ANY WAY TO RECOVER THE DOWNLOAD NOW because I was real close to getting done (about 80%)
µtorrent-Guest
disconnecting the network cable while downloading will NOT corrupt your files.so something else must have gone wrong with your downloads.make shure you stop the torretn , then point the download location to where the partly downlaoded files are stored and then do a hashcheck. If then you just get this low percentage then something else must have coruptet the already downloaded data and nothing more you can do about it, sorry
homie101
How do I point it? Sorry, I'm not good with torrents..
µtorrent-Guest
on beta 460 stop torrentRight click "advanced""set downlaod location"Then point where the file should beon stable its the same, but IIRC its not under advanced
homie101
I just did that but the percentages are still 1% or 2% each, they used to be like 65-80% each...
µtorrent-Guest
so then nothing you can do, as i said before the data has gotten corupted by something else but not the pull of a networkcable
Switeck
Do a hard disk scan. It may find the now-missing files as 'lost allocation units'...it's a longshot, but I used to have that problem all the time when power went out while downloading. homie101
I see the folder I was using before to save the file, but when I got it to download to the same folder that was 70+ % done, the downloading still showed 0.5% or so...
µtorrent-Guest
switeck was refering to "scandisk" aka. "checkdisk" in xp if i interpret his posting corectly.
Switeck
Correct, I was.Assuming the files are found, you have to rename AND move them to the correct spots so they can be resumed. And you'll also need to do a FORCE RECHECK in µTorrent.
