new idea for upload speed

I think that an option should be added that you can limit the upload speed while files are downloading, so say you cap your upload at 60 kbps, when the files are done downloading, have it be able to automatically switch to 0 or whatever you set it as.

Is it that hard to right click your torrent and change numbers yourself? Especially now with torrent completion notification, you can do that easily.

There is no reason to alter the upload speed while downloading. If you have the upload limit set to the proper amount, you will never run into problems while uploading and downloading at the limit.

but when my torrents are done, i'm not always in front of my computer and i like to seed as fast as i can when they're finished, sometimes i'm not home for days at a time

The option would most likely be used by non-leeches, since a leech wouldn't want to seed at ALL. It'd allow for the sharers to upload more when the torrents are seeding

i thought by setting it to 0 = stop seeding. same way that it works in the seeding priority options.

if 0 = unlimted thats fine. but i dont think that they should be able to set it to stopped as too many leechers will abuse it.

Well, typically 0 is unlimited, although it is true that it's not for non-prioritized torrents, which is probably why it specifically mentions that 0 = stop in that case.. It should be unlimited for seeding though, I do agree.

I think this can be useful for alot of people.. less upload while downloading might asure a higher download rate (saturation, even if capped), and then throw it back to normal when you're done and dont need the extra download.

I'd also like to see this feature, cause it's the only thing that keeps me using Azureus.

The current official version of AZ doesn't have it, but the beta-versions of AZ do have this feature.

It's a fantastic feature when your downloads finish downloading and you're not around to set it to 0 yourself, since there's no need to cap the upload when there's no downloads to slow down by upping too fast.
