flashfox
I forwarded all the ports using the website from the speed checker, and everything was ok.Then I started getting this problem, the ports didn't change. I just tried that patch thingy since I just got SP2, and it didn't help. I disabled the firewall for XP. I don't know what to do nowMy router is a microsoft and my anti-virus is AVG, i'm pretty sure I have no other firewalls
Firon
Try reading the FAQ.
flashfox
? The FAQ said to look for other firewalls, forward ports manually, and not to worry if you have a green light. I don't have a green light, I shouldn't have any other firewalls, and my ports worked before, and I'm still using the same port. I'm pretty sure my IP address didn't change either. Reading through some other portions, I checked my router's firewall, and it was off too. I searched around in the fourms, and I found this:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=9708I think this is what I need to do, but I'm not sure how to do it. Firon
What does the port tester in the Speed Guide say?
flashfox
Checking port 42011 on 69.248.99.108...Error! Port 42011 does not appear to be open. Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port. Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (208.99.198.134) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).I think this is what you are asking for.I have already followed the steps on portfoward.com, and when I checked from before, it seemed fine. My wireless router is allowing those ports. And my XP firewall is off. And utor is an exception anyway.
Firon
Well, it looks like your port forwarding isn't working. Check to see if your IP hasn't changed. Start -> Run -> cmd /k ipconfig
flashfox
No, its still 192.168.2.68, which is the same as when I check the log thingy, Unable to map UPnP port to 192.168.2.68:42011, which is what port I openedUnless I have to make it somehow change to my non-router IP, in which case I'm sunk. Firon
So, in your forward in the router, it's forwarding to 192.168.2.68?Try turning off UPnP, and uh, it possible your modem is a router?
flashfox
Ahh, I shall try that soon. My modem as a router? Its a wireless router, but its hooked through the ethernet port to my computer. Would that count? *is clueless about these things*I shall see if UPnP off works though. Also , it says that my internet connection is a LAN connection. Not sure if that would help, but thats all I really know. Thanks alot for your help.EDIT: Well, I'm still at yellow, but I'm connecting to some people now. The number is 4.Edit 2: Red...Edit 3:Its working now
