Hi, I urgently need to format and reinstall my windows 7 64bits, because my operating system is now a mess. I can't to do it right now because I have a lot of unfinished downloads in my utorrent software, those downloads are being downloaded into my E: drive.  So the question now is if there's a way to continue with those downloads on a fresh windows installation ? I know that you can do that by opening the .torrent files again, but I don't have them anymore. So I have planned backing up all the utorrent folders where utorrent were installed, so maybe if I replace them on my fresh windows installation, I will be able to see my unfinished downloads, just like if it was my previous windows installation.

Please help me guys, thanks.

Dear user,

Backup all unfinished downloaded files and the torrent files in external HDD or USB. After you re install windows and install torrent application. Now set the download folder drive, (for example C:\Torrent/Downloads/) and paste all the previous partial downloaded files.

Now open the torrent file. When the application load the file it will check the download folder for the early downloaded file first and if it doesn't find anything

it will download fresh.

But you already pasted unfinished downloaded file already, so it will proceed from the point where it stops previously.

100% it will work. Hope this helps.

Come on, I see you did not even read my post. That's not solution for me because I don't have the .torrent files anymore, and there are many downloads that were added from magnetic links.

µTorrent keeps all .torrent-files in its own folder where utorrent.exe is, by default in %AppData%\uTorrent\.

You should be ok if you save the whole folder.

Magnet links are just location to where it can get the .torrent, it will download them to the same folder like normal links.

I have a similar issue. My old master drive crashed and I was downloading files to slave drive. So now I don't have the old torrent files and but a few incomplete torrents and I'll be pissed if I have to re download all the pending torrents again.

Any work-arounds/suggestion?
