kraijeck Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_BitTorrent_clientsIt said: uTorrent Supports Peer exchange[10]But ^Only exchanging with other µTorrent clientsIs this wrong?when I look at flag column. It has a ton of IX,IHX,IHEX from other clients.
Firon Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 That just means you found that peer in the lists you exchanged with others.
Game90 Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 apparently wikipedia says PEx was developed by BitTornado...?
Kazuaki Shimazaki Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Is there a universal standard for PEx out there right now (as in, even one that's being used by two clients?) I thought there was all the standards out there right now are proprietary.
µtorrent-Guest Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Game90If the info in Wikipedia is false, then go ahead and change it by yourself. Everybody can submit articles and can correct errors in existing ones.
DonGato Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 But is it wrong? It seems not by Firon response.
kewldude607 Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 It is right. Those flags just mean that the peer was found in someone's PEX. So if the tracker was down you would still have those peers.
Firon Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Wikipedia is correct, you only exchange lists with µTorrent.
Dark Shroud Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Did TheSHADOW(bittornado) create PEX or did someone else do that?
Ultima Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 I wouldn't really say anyone created PEX, as all the implementations of PEX are different. In any case, I believe BitComet was the first to introduce this feature, but I might be mistaken.
-$$$$$- Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 more than Wikipedia it should be called Weakpedia. lol
