Duo Posted May 21, 2006 Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 ok WOWWWWW I feel like I failed skool ten times over and over after reading all ur FAQs and stickies...I dun understand ANY of it... -.-What I do get is how to format my quest =Panyways here it goesMy download speed is like this (takin this stright from utorrent)-size=10.4GB-seed=6(24)-peers=71(288)-download speed = 27.2 kb/s-up speed = 10.8 kb/s-ratio = .412-avail. = 19-my % goes from 0.0 to 0.1 in 1 min or so...-also My utorrent dot at the bottm left is green, thats good right =P??I am not sure if this is slow for my file or not cuz I can't tell a GB from a MB or whatever they are called -.-...anyways reading ur faqs and stickies I founded out that the download speed could be because of a fire wall or somthing called a routerfowarding a router means disabling a fire wall or somthing right??!?!?!?!?I honestly don't know and reading the faqs and stickies make me go @_@-I have windows XP and I turned off its fire wall-I also have norton and I turned off its worm protection (I think thats a fire wall)but I guess what I am realling asking is...What are routers and how do I foward them and please try to answer step-by-step like *start, control panel, network connection, etc...* Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's probably going to be something with Norton, or some other application that's filtering your traffic. Personally, I'd suggest getting a different (<i>better</i>, IMO) antivirus and a firewall (since apparently you don't got a router). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

µtorrent-Guest Posted May 21, 2006 Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 1) do not double post, use edit!2) your link is not about programm but about the hardware device! just start on my link and start reading there carefully(!) and completely(!)3) if portcheck says OK then yes you download and let others download from you (more specific: you let them initiate the connection to you). firewalled peolpe can initiate from their side the connection. but you can not initiate the connection to them, due to their firewall. 4) in short: Green bubble light and portcheck says OK then everthing FINE!
