Open Containing Folder enhancement

A good Open Containing Folder enhancement would be the inclusion of the /select,/e switches for explorer.exe.

For example, instead of shelling out to: "explorer.exe x:\folder\", you should shell to "explorer.exe /e,/select, x:\folder\".

This allows for both a folder tree display, and the automatic selection/opening of the folder requested.

if people want it to be an option, why dont they just press the FOLDERS button on the window that opens.. holy cow! it looks like the folder list! :D

i did think about making an exe called explorer.exe and putting it alongside utorrent, and having that exe parse and alter the arguments - it would have given the option for folders mode on, but it seems that windows is protected in this manner - nothing i tried would make ut start my version of explorer rather than the legit one. maybe ludde does it through api call rather than shelling to an exe, or maybe for virus reasons its impossible to shell to any other exe than explorer even with a modified path

so guys, if you want the folders list, either click the folders button or tap the following keys in order: alt, v, e, o

cjard.. this used to be how it was in a previous version.. i know it's possible to give command line arguments/switches when shelling out to any app, including explorer.exe. It's a simple option .. Open Containing Folder or Explore Containing Folder.

indeed.. an my thread about it had a link to microsoft who were reasonably in-depth about the options /select vs /explore

i personally prefer the select route, rather than the explore route, though toggling between them is quite easy, dont you think? I wonder if there is an option in windows to make any explorer window hat opens, show a folder list?
