WheresMeNuts Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Hi guys,I've been downloading using uTorrent for years, but stopped doing it around 2 years ago when Demonoid & Mininova got the chop.I've since been using a site called Come.in & it allows me access to other torrent sites like Pirate bay,Extra torrents etc etc. What I've notice is that when I download say a movie,I keep getting moved to another client to download & would never accept as I would guess it's got all sorts of nonsense in it.My question is,how can I get it to accept utorrent as my client every time I click on a movie etc ? I never used to have this problem a few years ago.
Beasly Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 You probably have another client on your pc that you use as a default for .torrent files.Do you know what is your current torrent client?Make sure when you're downloading from these indexing sites that you're downloading .torrent/magnet links and not direct links or .exe. To associate utorrent to be your default for .torrent files go to into the "General" section of the utorrent preferences and click on "Associate with torrent files".
WheresMeNuts Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 Hi,in that photo it has "Check association on startup" un-ticked & on my uTorrent it is ticked ?
Beasly Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Do you know what your current default torrent client is?What pops up when you try to download a torrent file?
WheresMeNuts Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 I've only downloaded 1 client as far as I'm aware & that's utorrent. I'm using Windows 7 ultimate x64 if this helps :-/
Beasly Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 I've only downloaded 1 client as far as I'm aware & that's utorrent. Then what does this mean! What I've notice is that when I download say a movie,I keep getting moved to another client to download & would never accept as I would guess it's got all sorts of nonsense in it.
WheresMeNuts Posted March 30, 2014 Author Report Posted March 30, 2014 If I only have 1 client on my PC & I go to a torrent site to download a movie, then utorrent should accept my request to download the movie & open up.When i click on a download link on most torrent sites in the last month or so it seems to want me to use every client on the Net out with utorrent. It never used to do this. These are the screen shots of the nonsense I'm getting when I click on a download..............
WheresMeNuts Posted April 1, 2014 Author Report Posted April 1, 2014 Bump............. Any one know why I'm being asked to use other clients ?
DreadWingKnight Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Because either the sites you're using are infected, you're confusing ads, or your computer is infected.
WheresMeNuts Posted April 6, 2014 Author Report Posted April 6, 2014 Because either the sites you're using are infected, you're confusing ads, or your computer is infected. The sites I'm using are well known & I'm definitely not confusing adds.KickassTPBIsohunt I thought about my PC having a virus, but this is not the case as I've just bought a new laptop & it also does it on that. When I click-on the download it gives me another client to use & I refuse. This can happen 2-3-4 x's on the same download icon & then it decides to just give me utorrent client. I can't be the only person having this issue :-/
