Which of the following internet connections better for MicroTorrent ?

I have two packages to choose from that my ISP can give me, they both cost the same (all numbers in kilobyte/second):

1. 190(down)/64(upload)

2. 380(down)/32(upload)

Is there a definite answer as to which of these two internet connections will give me better download speeds in MicroTorrent ?.

Thanks.

Nah, go for 380/32, then you'll get your stuff quicker. Screw uploading, nobody else bothers. ;)

Seriously though, it depends - if you have a machine where you can seed 24/7, then it's less of an issue. If you take 1 hour to download, and then seed for 20 hours, you'll still get a ratio of 2. :)

WebReaper, you are wrong !, Firon was DEAD ON with his advice.

Yesterday I still had my old internet connection - 640 (kbyte down) / 32 (kbyte up). this connection cost me a lot of $$$, and I couldn't stay with it, and had to choose one of the two packages I mentioned above.

Anyway, using the 640(down)/32(up) connection, on most torrents I received (after some time) a download rate of 2X - 3X my upload rate (I set my upload rate to be 25 kbyte, and received an average of 50-75 kbyte download. Yes, if the torrent's seed/leech ratio was very high, I got insane speeds, sometimes even 500 kbyte/sec, but 99.9% of the torrents I download are not well seeded, and I get a download rate which is only 2X-3X my upload rate).

Anyway, I went with Firon's advice today and switched to the 190 (kbyte down) / 64 (kbyte up). I checked with a few torrents, and I still get a download rate which is 2X - 3X my upload rate, only now my upload rate is 50 kbyte !!!.

Yes, I only have 190 kbyte/sec of maximum download, but I am exploiting 90% of it. Before, I had 640 kbyte/sec download, but I exploited barely 15% of it.

Firon's advice was very smart, and I'm glad I followed it. Bittorent wise, Upload is King.
