morspin
This started two days ago, on May 7. I saw in the forum that someone reported lots ofrecent activity on the topic, but searching didn't find much. I've been a regular dimeadozen.org user for years, and the problems started twodays ago. PirateBay downloads also fail, suggesting the problem is prob in myutorrent settings, my firewall, or maybe my ISP is up to no good. The DoD trackers all report the following: DHT: not allowedLocal Peer Discovery: not allowedPeer Exchange: not allowed http://b0.dimeadozen.org/announce.php/<KEY>/announce- switches between "offline (timed out)" and "not authorized" Running Windows 7 Home, uTorrent 3.4.1 - ISP: shaw.ca.No recent changes to my configuration. Any suggestions?

DreadWingKnight
Tried removing and re-adding the exception for uTorrent?
morspin
That did nothing. Time to try another torrent app. And if that fails, time to call my ISP.
morspin
I can connect to openbittorrent.com. So it's a tracker/auth problem?
DreadWingKnight
Probably is.
morspin
"Fixed" by downgrading to 2.2.1 as per dimeadozen instructions. I'm happy to beta-test new versions that once againwork with DoD and piratebay
DreadWingKnight
Downgrading puts you in a position of being unsupported here. It also makes me think that AVG is actively interfering even though it's only the antivirus.
morspin
Can you point me to something in AVG that would be doing this? I don't have its firewall activated.
DreadWingKnight
There are a lot of things in antivirus apps like avg that could interfere including "p2p guard" like programs. I stopped using AVG a couple of years ago because of how bloated it has become.
morspin
Recommended alternatives to AVG? This is for a home machine where thelocal IT department (i.e. me) dropped computer science and got a historydegree instead.
