ramibotros
I posted about this before and the admin sent me to http://wiki.theory.org/BitTorrentWishList (the part with "Connect To More Seeds Before Connecting To Peers")I always see how uTorrent wait to have a minimum amount of connected seeders to start connecting to leechers. It's really useless and i wish uTorrent removes it cause i see its negative results very clearly. The first acceleration on uTorrent is so slow because of this, and most torrents have much more than 100% availability even only through leechers. Is this feature there because seeders are supposed to be uploading faster? Well disconnect leechers if they're so slow or smth!
DreadWingKnight
uTorrent doesn't actually preference the seed vs leech connections. They just happen that way.
Firon
It also doesn't know which one is which until after it's already connected
atm999
COrrect me if I'm wrong, but isn't it faster to connect to a seed than a peer because peers have to tell you what pieces they do and don't have, while I seed just saus "I have the entire thing"? Firon
Speed is not guaranteed regardless of if it's a peer or a seed.

ramibotros
Well what is this written in the link? And why does it have to wait for at least 10 seeders to start connecting to leechers. This happens everytime here. I see Seeders: 7 of 7 and Leechers: 0 of
Firon
Didn't you read what we said? µTorrent doesn't know if someone is a seed or a peer until after you've connected to them, so there's no way it can possibly preference one or the other beforehand! It's probably either a) coincidence or lots of seeders.
