xorinzor Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Hello, Like many other users on this forum I was having the issue that when downloading a large torrent file on windows 8 it would start using all the memory with a system freeze / hang as result, only to be fixed by rebooting.(which looks like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6072059/20140203_174312.jpg) It turns out this has somehow something to do with the Windows Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver (otherwise known as Ndu.sys), what you will have to do to fix this problem is the following: 1. open "regedit"2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Ndu3. Change the "start" value to 4 (this disables it)4. Reboot.5. No more system issues! I hope this will help many other people with the same issue. Regards,Xorinzor
