FIX for massive ram consumption when downloading large torrents

Hello,

 

Like many other users on this forum I was having the issue that when downloading a large torrent file on windows 8 it would start using all the memory with a system freeze / hang as result, only to be fixed by rebooting.

It turns out this has somehow something to do with the Windows Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver (otherwise known as Ndu.sys), what you will have to do to fix this problem is the following:

 

1. open "regedit"

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Ndu

3. Change the "start" value to 4 (this disables it)

4. Reboot.

5. No more system issues!

 

I hope this will help many other people with the same issue.

I re-enabled ndu.sys and installed your beta, it looks like it's fixed in that build.

 

Any information on what the fix is? or may have been changed to fix it?

All the available infos are in the changelog... Maybe one of the fixed memory leaks... And it is not *my* beta...
