Fecal-Lord
I noticed in a torrent that I was getting today that it seemed to stop around 95% or so, and the log screen had pages and pages of hash fails and related bans for this torrent.I copied/renamed the downloaded file into the downloads DIR for bitcomet (I use utorrent all the time but I wanted to see if this would work) and resumed the torrent with that client.I noticed the same sort of hash fails as I did with utorrent, but I also noticed that there was a whole mess of clients with similar IPs who were all using Azureus 2.3.0.6. I highlighted and right-clicked this group of users and chose to IP ban them for 24 hrs.As soon I did this, the file finished within minutes and is perfectly fine.I don't know what your opinion is on a similar IP ban feature for utorrent, but in this case it was extremely helpful. I still use utorrent all the time, but any time I see this situation again, I'm likely to try this solution.Unless you know of a better way.(I just realized that I could probably turn of protocol encryption, as these fails were related to that feature in the older version of azureus. However, I am with an ISP that throttles, so that may not be an option.)Many thanks, and best of luck on future versions of utorrent.
Firon
µTorrent bans clients after 5 hashfails. And 2.3.0.6 doesn't have encryption. You might be able to avoid a lot of these poisoning clients by just using forced + unchecked legacy.
Fecal-Lord
I know it bans in that way, but I wasn't getting any kind of progress with that system. Not when there were about 20+ peers all causing the problem. Thanks for your help though, I appreciate it
Firon
If you wait a bit, it'll get them all sooner or later.
