justme3
So is it worth downloading individual files from a torrent? Does anyone know the answer? are the files fully downloaded and not recognised or are the crossfile pieces held in cache?
DreadWingKnight
Skipping files has a tendency of breaking things like I told you before.

DreadWingKnight
Set download location and relocate functions allow you to move your files around and still seed.
TrevorS
I find it useful to download subsets when dealing with packages like TV Series or movie collections. They're typically too big for my available disk space and so I subdivide and DL and seed one subset at a time.

TrevorS
My impression is that as long as you don't delete any of the DL'd data before copying the selected files to safety, then the DL'd files are good. If you delete anything before copy completion, then you risk file integrity. I don't have enough experience with uTorrent to be dead certain of this, but I believe it's the case. My procedure is upon completion of post DL seeding, I copy/move the DL'd files elsewhere, then I change the previous file selections from "normal" to "skip", delete the physical files including any partials and parts, update file selection per my desired next DL, and then perform a forced re-check. If the post re-check findings make sense, I then "start" DL of the next set of files. If it doesn't, then I try again, most likely I overlooked something. Just be careful!
