Trouble with label based directory mapping

I'm using uTorrent 3.4.1 on windows 8.1 (new computer, if that matters) and seem to be having problems with the auto label based directory mapping features.
 
I've added a few rules to the default ones, but they seem to be having no effect (when I add a torrent and change it's label it does nothing to the download directory unless I change it manually, and after I add it changing the label does nothing either, torrents always download to the default directory)

 

also another issue is that I can't delete or change rules from the label-directory mapping: I tried hitting the minus button with a rule highlighted, pressing delete, right clicking, and adding a conflicting rule, but all to no avail.

I would greatly appreciate any help on the matter, it would be a very useful feature if it would work.
