lsrpm64 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 I am using uTorrent v 1.8.4 I have been using previous versions for years. Everything has been going great. I try to do my part and keep the torrents going by sharing/seeding. At least until my hard drive fills up, then I have to dump the oldest torrents. But lately I have notice that I am frequently having issues. The other day I downloaded 11 or 12 videos and they were fine, but today uTorrent is reporting that Error: Can't open .torrent file.........pickaname.torrent and you get the red stopsign symbol with the exclamation point. Now uTorrent always has change the torrent file name AFTER it is added to its queue by appending .imported to the file name. that has never been an issue before. Previously downloaded content was/remained available for seeding purposes. I am currently have several hundred torrents available to seed, with active files set at the default. But now I am frequently getting the error above with my new downloads. And the only way I know how to fix is to remove the files (right click, remove all files) then go to the spot on my hd where the .torrent.imported file is, and rename it removing the .imported. uTorrent then finds it immediately, checks it, finds the downloaded files, and makes it available once more. But why is it happening at all? Is it a bug, or something else? How can I fix it? Or do I need to use another .torrent program? I like uTorrent, but this is annoying. I don't want to have to remove files, rename, reload all the time, and I never used to have to. I love being able to dl content to watch later. And I want to help perpetuate this ability by making the torrents I dl available to others out there, thats what makes it so great. But this needs to be addressed, Unless I am the only one experiencing it. Please help
