nothumphrey
Globally we could reduce p2p overhead if data was routed locally when possible. ISPs would love the idea of peers within their own network sharing data in preference to sending/receiving the data from outside the local network. Countries in the edge networks (New Zealand for example) would receive a massive benefit from a reduction in internationally received data as local seeders prioritise others in the country. Many users who can share unlimited data within their own ISP network and a restricted amount internationally would be able to contribute more to the community. Seems an obvious/easy way to lower the overhead required to share data. Currently I might be seeding to someone in Norway while in turn my neighbour is receiving from someone in USA. We're needlessly filling the pipes...Thoughts?
DreadWingKnight
Doesn't work that way in real life.
